The Runner

My name is Nick ,

I sometimes do hard things.
Often learn by failing.

I started running in 2017 to clear my head, for mental heath reasons and as a way to regulate my mood.

It has the added benefit of being a healthy habit.

Started blogging when I finished Capes100 50km in 2019 and I enjoyed the creative writing process. Have been writing ever since for the enjoyment, and to remind myself in areas of potential improvement.

In November 2019, I was selected to be part of #TeamAwesome, a group of 40 runners to be ambassador for the 2020 Tamarack Ottawa Race Weekend, and the Scotiabank Ottawa Marathon. The race went virtual and COVID-19 really messed up some plans. I have also been a Nuun ambassador since 2020.

In 2022 I joined the board of directors of the Legs for Literacy / Courir Pour Lire organization in Moncton NB. 

August 12/13 of 2023 was when I earned my first 100-mile buckle
